17th June - Broadcast Day 2
Today was a very good day. I vision mixed most the day however Nico fancied a go towards the end, so I shadowed her and showed her what to do. The live programs were very succesful and well organised and the content of the show as a whole ie. bumpers, inserts, VTs, played alot smoother, both from transmission and the gallery. It would've been great to try and do bang on 3 hours but unfortunately this wasn't quite possible.Aside from that, very successful, good day of broadcasting. All credit to everybody involved.
16 June - Broadcast Day 1
Today I was just being a general runner as my job as vision mixer isn't until tomorrow. I did things like help organise a news insert, move bits of set and be a guest on a world cup show to help fill some time. Overall I think the broadcast day 1 went okay, could have been better. But this was expected, hence the reason for having 2 days instead of one, this was a very good practice day for everyone so people could get into the swing of things.
11th June 2010
Today we completed the editing of our spoof shows, overall completing 6. This was not ideal however doing anymore wasn't viable, therefore I thought we should do soemthing else to help fill time during the broadcast. With the World Cup coming up I thought a lip sync similiar to the Queen lip sync on the children in need broadcast day would be good, this time to the lightening seeds song 'Footballs coming home'. Therefore after a frantic hour of running round to get people invovled, we did the filming around college. It went very well, considering the time constraints we were under, alot of zoomed in shots created the illusion there was more people involed than there actually was, I edited it on my laptop at home as we didn't have time in college. Mike did a good job of getting people involved, as did Matt Bird and alot of other people in 1A and 1P who texted friends of friends.

8th June 2010
Today, as planned, we recorded 'Red Dwarf' for which I have already produced titles. The actual final product has varied massively from our original plan. Orignally, we were going to film a man in red face paint (as a dwarf) however after a brainstorm we thought it would be funnier to have the red dwarf in a situation, therefore we found a classroom and filmed in there.
The biggest issue we faced was making Matt Bird look like a dwarf as obviously this is a crucial part of the joke, we had to create the illusion he was shorter than he was. I attempted standing above the set to try and change perspectives but that would not work. I came up with the idea of raising the tables and chairs to a slightly bigger height, creatnig the illusion Matt was at a lower height. This worked perfectly, the chairs and tables were lowered for wide shots and should all cut together nicely in post. Everything went very smoothly and I believe this will be one of the better shows in our series.

24th - 28th
This week was mainly spent helping out on other programs, as boom operatoe on 'M8s' and having a role in one or tow other productions. We did however manage to plan everything out for after half term. Due to time constraints when we return, everything has to be absolutley ready to go, therefore the week was spent creating costumes, purchasing face paints, desiging sets/floor plans etc.
24th May 2010
Today we were supposed to be filming the main sequence for a our 'Star Wars' program. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control we did not have time to make the costume required so we have put back filming to a later date.
