19th May 2010

Today we captured the footage we had filmed on Monday. As we expected, the match of the day CSO will just be a test as there was not enough room to film it effectively also the light was limited. We have spoken to Graham and he will be joining us in the studio next week to help us out with the CSO for Match of the day.

Today was a kind of a break day. We evaluated the previous days filming. This was helpful and will, I believe help us on our up coming shoot days.

17th May 2010

Today was the first day of filming. Although the total wipeout took a while because of acting issues we eventually got it finished and looking pretty good, I filmed whilst Jon acted. Match of the day was very much a CSO test and I think we should film this again when we have more room. The star Trek CSO went very well and will work fine in post production. Top gear was also filmed in a static Mike’s car, this was easily filmed in ten minutes.

I have downloaded all themes required using a mac program, saved them to a folder and will bring them in so editing on opening titles can begin as soon as filming is finished. I began making a Top Gear introduction too using Adobe After Effects CS3 and FCP Express.

Today we compiled the list of everything that was needed and began ticking things off that we could get hold of, then we had a list of things we needed and began asking people if they could obtain them for us. We also split up jobs to do, mine was to research into the legal issues relating to the filming we were doing. I also was given the task of getting all the required theme tunes to our shows.

Today myself and Mike drew out everything that was needed in terms of equipment/personnel and locations then stapled it on the back of each storyboard. This was very good as it made everything much easier to organise so that we could be ready to hit our target of filming on the 17th.
